Background
My first time purchasing games on dmm.co.jp (or FANZA), having experienced the confusing download page(it told me to use Browser’s Save Link As
because Chrome doesn’t support dmm downloader
) , I extracted game files from 3 separately downloaded rar part.

There’s one README.txt(filename is in Japanese) and one game folder in extracted folder.

Fine, the main program must be xxx.exe
…
A dialog textbox throwed, as I opened tha main program, I can read Chinese character (or Kanji) , knowing it’s something my PC lack to run the game. And installed SoftDenchi with clicking OK at all.
I submitted my dmm.co.jp user ID and password in first launch.
The problem is, I need to use textractor to read scripts from the game, and translate it to English in read time.
However, there were three independent process for one game.
- koikake.exe
- koikake.bin
- koikake.exe
And only the hooking to koikake.bin
is effective. I didn’t know why.
At the same time, considered installing unknown obfuscate software on my PC is not elegant. I searched about ソフト電池
.

Digital Restrictions Management
There’s already threads about how to remove SoftDenchi DRM, the most referenceable is VNDB’s thread.
The DenchiUnwrapper
in VNDB thread is basically a pyinstaller
packaged windows exe of the python script posted on the FUWANOVRL thread.
Dramatically, Textractor can’t hook any koikake process since then, not even the koikake.bin
.

Not any of them hooked the game script!

Software or game maker in Japan would sometimes even check if your system’s Time Zone or Language is Japanese
I’ve heard that, thought it may trigger something if there’s two exe in the game folder, I moved koikake-nodrm.exe
to the parent directory.
And koikake.bin
is hookable now.
Therefore, I backed up, replaced the original koikake.exe
to the nodrm one, leaving only one executivable. The game is now DRM-free and hookable eventually.
